Safari & Beach

A Tanzania safari can be an amazing combination of a superb wildlife viewing and undisturbed beach relaxation. By simply hopping on a light aircraft in the morning, you can be on the country’s beautiful coastline in just a few hours. Imagine waking up to a savannah view and falling sleep to the sound of the ocean; it's simply magical.

See The Great Migration

A Tanzania safari gives you the opportunity to see The Great Migration; one of the world’s most incredible natural occurrences. Every year, nearly 1.5 million wildebeest and 300,000 zebra make the long trek North from Tanzania’s Serengeti Plains to Kenya’s Maasai Mara.

See The Big 5

A Tanzania safari gives you the opportunity to see the Big Five, the most famous of Africa's animals. They are awe-inspiring and by supporting the camps and National Park authorities who protect their conservation, we ensure future generations can see them too.

Where to go in Tanzania?

Northern Tanzania

See The Great Migration

A Tanzania safari in Tanzania's Northern safari parks is simply put, iconic, especially if you go to the legendary and spectacular Serengeti National Park - home to The Great Migration. Here, you can also see the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara, with the option to finish with a beach stay on Zanzibar.

Southern Tanzania

Exclusive and wild

A Tanzania safari in Tanzania's Southern safari parks is perfect for those who are after something more raw, private, adventurous yet luxurious. The National Parks, Nyerere and Ruaha, are less travelled compared to Tanzania's Northern Parks and offer fantastic walking and water based activities.

Western Tanzania

For the intrepid traveller

A Tanzania safari in Tanzania's Western safari parks, Katavi and Mahale, is going off the beaten track. Due to the relative costs and inaccessibility of the region, only those ready to invest time and money tend to be able to get out here, which is a shame as this is an outstanding region of Africa.

Zanzibar Archipelago

The perfect beach finish

There are more than 40 islands spread throughout the entire Zanzibar archipelago, with Zanzibar Island being the largest. From any safari location in Tanzania you can reach the beach within a few hours.

When to visit Tanzania?

Timing is key

Tanzania is a stunning destination, full of exotic National Parks and abundance of wildlife. There is no 'best' time to visit as there are specific benefits of travelling at different times of year. It is a seasonal destination however and the wildlife moves year round, so being in the right place at the right time is key.

Top Tip

Book in advance

As many of the camps we use are small and intimate, they often book up well in advance. One family or group booking can fill up an entire camp. With being in the right place at the right time key when on safari, there is a comparatively small number of camps to choose between. If possible we recommend booking over a year in advance to ensure you can choose your favourite camps and secure the best price.

Reviews

The experience I had with the Tanzania Safari Company was once in a lifetime. I had always wanted to go on Safari, and Tanzania Safaris turned that dream into a reality. The accommodation booked was top notch. Absolutely beautiful panoramas, food, and service at each place we stayed.

Payton Hillman

The Tanzania Safari Company organised a wonderful experience for our group. All of the lodging and experiences exceeded our expectations. We had been on safari before and this was by far the best trip. We would definitely trust Tanzania Safaris in planning another trip in the future.

Jessie Brown

The Tanzania Safari Company created a bespoke honeymoon package on my behalf. I dealt with Ben who was a true professional and catered for our every need to ensure we had a perfect trip - he spent time getting a thorough understanding of my trip requirements.
